THE RETURNS FROM NOSE AND THE HAND When Mr.Bill Clinton, the President of USA, came to Turkey for the conference of Agit (Oesc), he went to Istanbul by car and visited the earthquake victims who were bound to live in their tents. He gave them his love and he too was embraced with the love of these people.In the tents that he visited, he had established warm relations with the inhabitants.As a result of this closeness a baby was given into his arms. While he was holding him the baby caught ‘’his nose’’. This action changed the life of the baby and caused the spread of a country wide fashion...Nowadays, the babies are thrown forward to hold our President’s nose. Even, the governors of the cities, the security guards and the policeman are exerting a very special effort for this purpose.Upto now, a child has never got hold of our President’s nose...It also seems that he does not have any special desire for making the babies catch his nose.Now, luck has started to be on this baby’s side and his life has changed completely. He has received many proposals for playing in films of advertisement being the baby whom the President had held in his arms.It is very natural for a baby to be held in Mr.Clinton’s arms or in the arms of our President and have their affection.However, the attitude of a Governor towards a native who has approached him with love for telling her problems and addressing him as ‘’My esteemed governor’’ was rather different. He wanted to stop her from speaking by closing her mouth with the back of his hand and said ‘’These are provocators!’’...I don’t know how it feels to close people’s mouths by accusing them. However, this event has some other dimensions: While this young girl was being insulted, the cameras were filming this scene. So, this very same scene appeared on the screen for several times. As a result, the young lady became very popular. She received three billion Turkish Liras to be transferred to a local TV and a monthly salary of two hundred and fifty liras. This shows that hidden beneath all the insults or bad events there are many blessings. Let us remind immediately. It is a must to grasp the meaning of ‘’Hayrihi and þerrihi min Allahi Teala’’, which is one of the most important rules of faith. What should be understood from the good as well as the bad (which is considered as evil) indicated in this rule? Naturally, when something in harmony with the person’s nature reaches him, with the individualistic understanding, it is evaluated as ‘’goodness’’. All the events and situations which are contrary to the individual’s nature and his individualistic understanding are named as ‘’evil’’. As a matter of fact, all the happennings which are suitable with one’s nature are ‘’evil’’ and those that are contrary are ‘’good’’. This is in accordance with the real. (See Bakara 216) Hz.
Ibrahim Hakký Erzurumi (a saint who has lived in the seventeenth century
has the below beautiful lines on the subject: Never say about anything ‘’Why has it been like this?’’ Be sure that it was the most proper way for it to happen, Be
patient and wait for the end results Let us see what Allah would do However,
whatever Allah does is
good...’’ We
should always be concentrating our thoughts with this awareness. Now,
you can evaluate in a much better way the returns from the nose and the
