THE FEAR OF THE TRUTH/THE REAL

There is no doubt that fear is one of the feelings which  brings the highest rate of return  to individuality.      One feels the fear  when he  is confronted with a real or an abstract danger or threatening.

In the colloquial language, fear is expressed by the sayings ‘’To be carried away by such a great fear’’, ‘’The fear of death’’, ‘’To be trembling with fear’’...      These feelings are mostly the extensions of the ’bogey man’concept from the childhood years.  In addition to these, there are the kinds of fear which do not cope  with universality, such as the fear of the future.

Most of us  fear from  high places which is considered as a phobia. The individuals who have identified with this feeling never think of going out to balconies which have low banisters. They feel seriously sick when they look down from the window of a high building, thinking that the empty space at the front would pull and swallow them and with this fear they step back.. As a result, such an individual is always very careful in coming not too close to such places and goes on living with this feeling without putting himself in danger.      Those who are afraid of staying in closed places (who have clausthrophobia) are afraid to go into an elevator, into closed places even to the movies.

Everything that we have mentioned above are among the psychological disorders.

On the other hand, there is another very serious fear which cannot be compared to these. This is the fear from the truth/the real!…

When the individual comes face to face with the truth/the real, he denies his own truth, his real origin due to the fear of  losing, because he had been unable to  assimilate the subject well; everything that he learned remained  at the level of  knowledge.

He gets carried away with fear not in material terms, but spiritually.

The moment the truth/the real encircles him, he prisons himself immediately among the rules  that he himself has created; for the fear of  losing his relative values,  he leaves aside the real/the truth and tries to keep away from it.

As a matter of fact, he has reached this point without abandoning his feelings and  this point is a very good indicator of  how strong the ýndividuality has become.  As time goes by, an imaginary truth is being created which makes the person loose his ability to adapt to his real essence  and reaches his god instead of reaching Allah.

With such a fear, it is out of question to go into the details such as understanding and reading the system.

In the end the person will make a god of his own style, his own way and will get carried away with the realities(!) of his imaginary universe.

Mysticism has put the principle for attaining universality with the sentence ‘’Only the wise men among you are startled, are full of awe at the sight of Allah’’.  The people who are interpreting the Koran name this concept as Fear. This is simply because of the discrepancy/duality in their understanding.

The greatest and most important feeling that creates the fear of the truth/the real, comes through false suppositions.  This fear veils the person from Allah. I wonder if it is necessary for me to repeat that all who are speaking in the most convincing way in the name of religion and who of course are authorities in this respect are emphasizing these points.

It is strange to say that along with the limited personal perceptions which make one turn his face from Allah’s aspect; the longing for Allah, the frenzied love for Allah may sometimes veil the path going to the essence.

This state of mind which  results from loosing the love, should not be confused with the behaviour based on complete surrender.

As a matter of fact, the individual would not be aware  in which aspect does this feeling has overwhelmed in himself.

Everything  that we perceive as an individual and name as ‘’the truth/the real’’ is in accordance with our condition and the limited structure of our perceptions.

Due to this limitedness in the perception, the judgements regarding likes and dislikes make a separation among the percepted things  and leave some of them out.  Whereas, the absolute truth does not show any change depending on the perceptions or conditions.

Therefore, we can say that living  with fear  deprives one of his essence.

Insisting that the other values which are accepted only as tools are the real ones and building  one’s rights above these, may lead the person to have the fear of the truth as well as causing the curtain to close forever.

The following warning which has reached the dimension of the humans through the divine inspiration, most probably mentions what has been told above;

‘’They do not have any cause which may create neither fear nor sorrow’’…
