THANKS FOR THE WARNING..

It was around 6p.m. on Tuesday, December 12th 1999...

The phone rang....

- Hello!.. Is it the newspaper Akþam (The Evening News)

- Yes it is. How can I help you?

-Please connect me to the division of Inci (the supplement of the newspaper consisting of four pages)....

- Ok... Hold on please....

- Hello... Who is speaking?

- I am the editor responsible for Inci...

- I would like to talk to you about a subject... Do you know the person who is writing in the supplement Inci during the month of Ramadan in the corner named ‘The Day’s Conversation’?

- No Sir, I don’t know him...  It is not obligatory for me to know all the writers.... This year we have again provided a section for Mr. Ahmet Fevzi Yüksel’s essays same as last year.  As he writes  from a different perspective, many people are interested in his essays and we believe that the essays are helpful for them. He does not have an ordinary style.  We choose and prefer the writers according to the wants of our readers.

- All right, everything that you have said is fine. However, the life of this person does not have the same level as his essays.

- I am sorry, I could not understand....

- That means his life is not in parallel with what he writes. This was what I wanted to tell you.

- I see, then may I know you?

- I am a businessman.

- Then, please give us your full name and identity, so that during our evaluations we can take your ideas into consideration. Please, give your open address too...

- I cannot give my identity...

- Why?

- I told you, I cannot...

- Then I cannot take into account what you have said. Moreover, I must say that as a paper we are not interested with individuals themselves but their ideas.

Meanwhile, the person at the other end of the line hangs up.

When I was informed about this conversation, I looked at the event and evaluated it from an objective from point of  view, not subjectively.

I have determined that the important thing was the place from which this speech had emerged, not the individual himself alone.

Things like these always happen when  science is not in parallel with one’s life, when science is not in connection with one’s life.

Science is a completely different subject than life.

This should be the conclusion gained out of meditation and reasoning.

I must take into consideration this important warning in order to pass from the stage of imitation to the stage of investigation....

Hoping to meet you next week....
